Tarleton Corinthians Football Club

A PILLAR OF STRENGTH

CARR LANE UNDER WATER 19th August

Due to severe water logging there will be no activity for the remainder of this week at Carr Lane.

Managers and coaches are instructed not to train on the pitches.

Thank you for your cooperation.

2008 Pre -Season Junior Football Tournament 16/17 August

The tournament was once again a great success and we thank many of the visiting teams for the pleasing comments about how the competition was run.

Congratulations to all of the competitors, in excess of 500 players took part over the weekend, the real winner being football itself.

Unfortunately, due to the weather the Under 10's had to play on 'the top field' on Sunday, we appologise for the long trek through the mud. We'll hopefully address that in the coming months.  That said there wasn't a single complaint althought there will no doubt be some 'sling back sandals' and other assorted summer shoes thrown away after today.

Thank you to the army of helpers who made the competition the success it was.  There were a few who were virtually camped at Carr Lane for two days, you know who you are, your efforts are greatly appreciated.

Thanks also to Mee's Bakers for their kind donation of buns and to Creme De La Creme who supplied the sausages at trade cost.

WE ARE PROUD TO ANNOUNCE THAT OUR RE-APPLICATION FOR CHARTER STANDARD HAS BEEN APPROVED BY
THE LANCASHIRE FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION.

Yes it's 3 years since we were first successful in gaining Charter Standard and it's to the credit of a small army of helpers that we have been able to retain it.

According to the FA, the award of Charter Standard enables parents to know which the best clubs in the area to provide childrens' coaching are.  By setting standards of training, codes of conduct and screening of managers, we believe that we are doing the very best for our young people.

It's worth noting that 10 Clubs lost their Charter recognition due to poor behaviour so it's imperative that our standard of behaviour remains within our Code of Conduct.  It's only through the Charter Standard that we retain access to the funding streams that will allow us to develop as a Club and provide the facilities that all of our players deserve.
